He looks and he sees
But knows not the man
Who’s quietly staring
He should have just ran.
He looks and he sees
At the man glaring back
The man with sad eyes
Whose heart has gone black.
He looks and he sees
A man who’s not whole
He looks and he sees
The man has no soul.
He looks and he sees
He’s made a mistake
The man’s soul is there
What he saw was heartbreak.
He looks even harder, into the man’s eyes, there’s a glimmer of hope and he silently cries, for the man in the mirror, the man who’s so grim, the man staring back, he now knows is him.
